Method 1: Clearing Epic Games cache files
Cache files are files that contain temporary information that Epic Games uses every time it is opened and is stored so that it can be used again later. These stored cache files can cause errors such as Epic Games Error Code II-E1003. To prevent this, we will clear Epic Games’ cache files. Here’s what you need to do to do this:
- Go to search section and type Run.
- After searching for Run, open it.
- Type %localappdata% in the Run bar.
- Click OK.
- In the folder that opens, find Epic Games and EpicGamesLauncher folders.
- Right click on these folders and click on the trash icon. Deleting this folder will not harm your game files but you will need to log in to your Epic Games account again.
- After clearing Epic Games’ cache files, restart your PC. Restarting your computer is an important step to solve the problem. So don’t skip this step.
We cleared Epic Games’ cache files. Now you can check if the problem is solved or not.
Method 2: Deleting & reinstalling Epic Games to fix Epic Games Error Code II-E1003
The cause of the problem may be corrupt or missing files inside Epic Games. If this is the case, problems like this can occur. It is possible to delete and reinstall Epic Games without losing our games. This way we can delete and reinstall Epic Games without worrying and try to fix Epic Games Error Code II-E1003. Here’s what you need to do to do this:
- Open Epic Games.
- Click on Library from the left.
- Click on the three horizontal dots next to any game you downloaded.
- Click Manage among your other options.
- Click on Open Install Location. Open Install Location option is the option with the folder icon next to the Uninstall option.
- After clicking Open Install Location, click on Epic Games above.
- Inside the Epic Games folder, you will see the folders of the games you downloaded. We will save these files to back up our games.
- Select the game folders and right click.
- After right clicking, click on the scissors icon or after selecting press Ctrl and X keys at the same time.
- After cutting the game folders, paste the game folders to the Desktop or anywhere else you prefer. Be careful while doing this as we will need these folders.
- Go to search section and open Control Panel.
- After opening Control Panel click on Uninstall a program under Programs.
- Find Epic Games Launcher among your other applications and programs.
- Right click on Epic Games Launcher and click on Uninstall.
- Click Yes to continue. If you had problems uninstalling Epic Games, make sure Epic Games is not running in the background and try again.
- Open your browser to download Epic Games Launcher again.
- Search for Epic Games in the search bar.
- Open Epic Games’ site.
- Click on the blue Download icon next to profile icon at the top right.
- After downloading Epic Games Launcher setup, double click on it and install Epic Games Launcher.
- After the installation is finished, log in to your account.
- To add your games to Epic, click on Library from the left.
- After doing this, you can add the games you downloaded from Epic to your Library by following the steps on Epic Games’ website. Since adding games to your library is a quick process, this process will not take your time.
We deleted Epic Games and reinstalled it without deleting our games. Now you can check if the problem is solved or not.
